Hi, everyone.
I'm Pablo with Publix Aprons Simple Meals.
Get your slow cooker ready, because today's
recipe is Poppy Seed Pork with Apples and Rice.
It's a little sweet, a little savory, and best of
all, it'll fill your family up without emptying your wallet.
The pork roast we're using today is one of the more
affordable cuts of meat, but I can tell you,
you won't be sacrificing any flavor.
Let's start by browning the pork in a oiled,
preheated, oiled sauté pan.
This really enhances the taste.
Now transfer to your slow cooker, and add onions,
celery, apple juice and poppy seed dressing.
Cover, and cook on high.
OK, after about two hours, add green apples,
and cook for another couple of hours.
When the pork is ready, slice it up;
or, I prefer to shred it, and serve it with the
apples and sauce over prepared rice.
And you can't go wrong with garlic bread as a
simple side and carrot cake for dessert.
It will make quite the spread.
