two key skills that I believe, you know,
government personnel need to bring to the table is:
1 valuing diversity, teamwork
they need to model accountability and responsibility.
They got to be risk-takers and innovators, and I think the most important thing is
that they got a value their personnel as their most important resource.
Basically, you know, folks that are accountable,
responsible, are looking for challenges...not somebody that's looking to do a job
and 8 to 5 and leave, but somebody that wants to make a difference and somebody
that looks at federal employment as a noble profession.
I embraced telework a hundred percent and embraced it prior to the telework enhancement act
and the benefit that I personally see and that I've witnessed
in USDA, you know, recently with the enactment the telework enhancement act
and prior to the telework enhancement act is the fact
that it provides the balance a work-life balance for employees
HR university is a critical component
to developing our HR workforce.
Most importantly it provides them the requisite training and employee
development
that we must continue to have front and center.
In addition, it provides for continued learning, regardless the respective position
including mine as a senior executive,
you know, we can all learn more and we all by learn more
only become better managers and employees
