Hi! My name’s Doreen, I’m a student Midwife, first year student. I chose Kingston because
I liked the course structure compared to other universities I’ve been to. There’s, my
course is mostly 60% practical and 40% theory. I’m based at Kingston Hill and Kingston
Hospital. I really enjoy Kingston uni, it’s very vibrant and I’ve got a few friends
here due to societies I’ve joined. I’ve joined the Living World’s society which
is a Christian society, I’ve joined the Midwifery society which is related to my course.
The university’s really great. My top tips for students is to make use of your Fresher’s
week because you’ll find there are a lot of other things there, different societies,
there are a lot of societies. If there’s not one you want you can make up your own
if you find people to help you. I would say learn how to cook, otherwise you’ll be living
on canned food. Make sure you find out about the university, about accommodation, everything
before you start, because it will really help you budget stuff. Also, ask for help. Anytime
you need help don’t suffer in silence, ask someone; there’s always people there to
help you and that’s all I have to say. I hope to see you guys soon and if you have
any questions and you see me around uni if you do get in, do ask.
