Hi, My name is Nick Gumlaw
I'm the owner of Spin Dynamics, Inc.
which is a yo-yo company out of western Massachussetts, USA.
I got started and decided to build a company around local industry.
So we use local anodizer, local machine shop,
and sell a lot of our products locally but also to the international market.
We have two new designs, one is called the Smooth Move
This one is built around my style of play which is grind style
it's very good for all sorts of different kinds of grind tricks
it has flared-out rims so that it minimizes the contact with your arm
creates a little bit less friction
it has a polished rim which looks very classy
and also has just a little lip on the outside
so that when you do palm grinds it reduces the friction on your rim
and also fits the finger very very well
for finger grinds.
Now with this model we've included a special plastic cap
which adds a little bit of weight to a very key area of the design
and also adds some support for thumb and finger grinds.
And this one plays a little on the lighter side,
it's meant to float which is what a lot of people like with the new style
one of the things Spin Dynamics likes to do is
we pride ourselves on designing yo-yos from the inside out
which means we want it to be very stable
and it's going to continue to play stable for a long time
this model in particular has a nickel-plated coating with a soda blast
which will also help with grinds
it's very very slick
so it reduces the friction
and also looks really really nice.
And what we've done is we've added a stainless steel axle
for extra stability and to add to the look
and on the inside of every model
we've put a stainless steel insert.
This insert's threaded directly into the aluminum
so it threads right down inside
and what that does
is it reduces the wear on the inside of the yo-yo
so that when you take it apart over and over again
you don't have to worry about it
beginning to vibrate or anything like that
so what you're doing is in effect is threading
a stainless steel axle system
into a stainless steel insert
which makes this rock-solid on the inside
also we use a non-adhesive pad
by Shinwoo called the P-pad
which slips in very easily
it's adhesive free
so you don't have to worry about any of the gum on the inside
and it works very well
it provides very tight binds
and lasts for quite a while
but it also allows you to add your own response if you choose
we also have another model
called the Monkey Fist
this yo-yo plays a little heavier
and it's different shape
it has a very very large emphasis on rim weight
this one here is very smooth and stable
and actually currently holds a world record
for the trick Iron Whips
it was broken originally in April
and was re-broken at this World Yo-Yo Contest
at 276
it's also been clocked at a spin time of about 10 minutes and 30 seconds
so this yo-yo provides a really fun, stable play
and it uses the same inserts, the same axle system as the Smooth Move
but it's a completely different shape
so it's just a really fun throw
and this is an anodized coating
and it's also soda blasted
so it's still friction free
but just a different feel from the nickel
and we've also added a very special splash pattern to the outside
and we call this the Dynamic Edition
cause it's in the team colors of Spin Dynamics
we have the black and the silver and the white on the inside
and this one's available in anodized and nickel
they're both available in each finish
and depending on the weight you would like
the nickel adds about 0.7 grams
so if you'd like a slightly heavier yo-yo
the nickel one could be the one for you
and if you like the lighter finish
the anodized could be the one for you
thank you guys very much
I hope you want to try out some of our products
we're really excited about them
