>> NARRATOR: Bad communication, mistrust between the platoon leader and the platoon sergeant,
and a lack of respect, failure in leadership. It all lead to a catastrophic failure on that
day, but your problems started long before that. Back in pre-deployment.
>> PLATOON SERGEANT: Hey, this is N-C-O business. Stay out of it and stay in your lane.
>> PLATOON LEADER: Why am I hearing about the specialist from Captain Lopez?
>> PLATOON SERGEANT: I don't know Sir. Why are you?
>> NARRATOR: And you took them with you when you deployed/
>> PLATOON LEADER: This is great. Commander just nailed me for our little screw-up in
predeployment.
>> PLATOON SERGEANT: There's no way I'm going to let a green lieutenant lead this platoon
into a death trap.

>> NATURAL SOUND OF FIGHT
>> PLATOON SERGEANT: What's wrong with y'all.
>> NARRATOR: And today...
>> COMMANDER: I can't remember the last time I had a platoon leader and platoon sergeant
in front of me like this. I don't think I ever had a platoon fall apart like your's
has. Stand at ease. What happened? Sergeant, you had squad leaders checking with you before
they carried out the orders of the platoon leader. Lieutenant, you disregarded the advice
of your platoon sergeant.
>> NARRATOR: But it doesn't have to be this way. In this program, unlike real life, you
get to go back in time. You get to be Sergeant First Class Shaw and Lieutenant Oakes, walk
in their shoes, experience their lives. You get to figure out how to make this relationship
work, and avoid this outcome.
>> COMMANDER: You failed.

>> SOLDIER: I need a C-L-S.
