I have been offered a couple of other positions and I just said no.
It was some more money and stuff but I like this. I like it here I like being able to
make a difference and I like the people here. The residents the people I work with
Angela: There's a another nursing home, they definitely could give me probably four more
dollars an hour but it's not Good Sam and so it goes from the people who have
treated me with open ears all throughout Good Sam caring about me and my family
and that kind of stuff makes a difference that they they care
about you they know your story they know where you've been what you've done.
We're all growing and we're working together.
It was shocking to me is when they came to me about it and to hear
some of the increased dollar amounts for these
individuals and then they say, "I turned it down," not "the employer turned me down."
It was cool to hear and some of the comments made were "I liked it here. I like
what we're doing I like where we're going." And part of that mission it's good
to hear that as well because we have goals we are on a mission and that
mission is not ever going to end. When you get people to buy in to that
mission and what is happening in the center again they'll follow and they
want to be a part of that. Not every place has that.
