JOE AARON REID: see, my Broadway debut was Curtains.
And I got it.
I went to an open call--
FEMALE SPEAKER: And I got it.
JOE AARON REID: I got it.
I went to an open call.
And I got it.
FEMALE SPEAKER: Had you just graduated college?
JOE AARON REID: I was, like, a year out of college.
And I finally got my Broadway show.
Well, I did the out of town try out in LA.
And then we--
ALEX: I saw that.
JOE AARON REID: Oh, you saw it.
FEMALE SPEAKER: Thanks, Alex.
JOE AARON REID: And so I got it.
And I look back on pictures that were taken back then.
And I had, like, so much hair.
And I was, like, heavier.
FEMALE SPEAKER: You had a fro?
JOE AARON REID: Yeah, it was not cute.
Anyway, it was great.
It was a great experience.
It was back in 2007.
Bill T. Jones won for best choreography when I was
dancing my *** off.
So it was great.
I had a great time.
And I recommend everyone having a Broadway debut.
