We're talking today about arm bars, how to apply them and how to apply them safely. All
right. Now, we're going to show you a very simple technique with the knife. He throws
his knife towards me. I block it out of the way. And keep in mind when you're blocking
we do a thing called push, parry, press. If he's throwing the strike with his right hand,
you're going to take your left hand, push it across, take your own right hand come up
underneath on the outside of your left arm and grab. It's a very effective way of blocking
and grabbing. Again, he thrusts and I block it out of the way and grab. From here, of
course, I've straightened out his arm, pulled on it a little bit, get it expose and now
I have the arm bar. And of course, I can just again apply pressure straight down to the
ground, so as he goes down then I can also again just bring him all the way down to the
ground and apply my knee into the back of his arm to apply the arm bar technique. And that is the arm bar with a takedown and
apply it to the ground with a knee strike from a knifepoint.
