In this 3-minute Spanish lesson we're going to hear a conversation where people introduce
themselves and ask other people's names.
All the Spanish conversations in my videos focus on everyday topics that often come up
when you communicate with native speakers. These conversations will help you develop
your listening and speaking skills fast.
Hi, my name is Maria Fernandez. I'm an experienced native Spanish teacher and the author of several
Spanish language courses.
Let's hear a Spanish conversation where people introduce themselves.
Hola, buenas tardes.
Hola, me llamo Ricardo, y tú ¿cómo te llamas?
Juan. ¿De dónde eres?
De Inglaterra
Now we're going to hear it once more, and we're also going to see the Spanish transcript.
Hola, buenas tardes.
Hola, me llamo Ricardo, y tú ¿cómo te llamas?
Juan. ¿De dónde eres?
De Inglaterra
This time, we're going to hear the same conversation again, and we're also going to see the English
translation.
Hola, buenas tardes.
Hola, me llamo Ricardo, y tú ¿cómo te llamas?
Juan. ¿De dónde eres?
De Inglaterra
And now, let's do some role playing. You're going to be Ricardo, the second speaker. I'll
prompt you in English. Can you say your two lines in Spanish?
Hola, buenas tardes.
Hello, my name is Richard, and you, what's your name?
Hola, me llamo Ricardo, y tú ¿cómo te llamas?
Juan. ¿De dónde eres?
England
De Inglaterra
To finish, let's hear the conversation again.
Hola, buenas tardes.
Hola, me llamo Ricardo, y tú ¿cómo te llamas?
Juan. ¿De dónde eres?
De Inglaterra
Here's a learning tip. Reviewing is the secret to fast language learning. Come back to this
video every so often. Listen to the Spanish conversation and do the role playing drill.
If you do that, your listening and speaking skills will improve really quickly.
