hello guys today
in this first tutorial we'll see
how to install Arch linux. After that
you boot your computer with arch
linux CD these
will be your first screen. So the first
thing that we'll do is
to map the keyboard in your language
so write just "loadkeys"
and then your language
Now we start by creating the partition on our drive:
run the command: "cfdisk /dev/sda"
now we are in the graphical
program
For a fast installation we'll create just
one partition but maybe you need
to create two partitions: one for the root
and one for the swap.
Press write, and yes
and now
exit from the program.
Now we'll see
if there is the correct
partition with
"fdsidk -l /dev/sda"
"fdsidk -l /dev/sda"
Now we need to format the partition
and run the command: " mkfs.ext4 /dev/sda1"
and run the command: " mkfs.ext4 /dev/sda1"
and run the command: " mkfs.ext4 /dev/sda1"
Once formated we need
to mount the partition: "mount /dev/sda1 /mnt"
to mount the partition: "mount /dev/sda1 /mnt"
We'll see if our connection is up
Press "ifconfig"
and then
you can try to test the connection
with the command " ping 2 www.google.com"
After that
we have the connection ,we'll install base
packages with the following command: "pacstrap /mnt base base-devel net-tools netctl dialog wpa_supplicant"
packages with the following command: "pacstrap /mnt base base-devel net-tools netctl dialog wpa_supplicant"
and now we'll wait that the system
install all the packages
Now that our installation is complete we install the Grub
with the command: "pacstrap /mnt grub"
Completed the installation of the packages, we create the "fstab"
with this command: "genfstab -p /mnt >> /mnt/etc/fstab"
with this command: "genfstab -p /mnt >> /mnt/etc/fstab"
At this point we enter
in the "chroot" with th ecommand : "arch-chroot /mnt"
Now the first thing
to do is to set the root password. Press "passwd"
and we can insert our password
Now we'll
create the file "grub.cfg" and install the Grub MBR with the command:
"grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg"
then "grub-install /dev/sda"
then "grub-install /dev/sda"
At this point our installation
is completed.
Now we'll go to the first configuration
