Hello, my name is Lori Randall with Simply Divine Events and I am a wedding planner and
I have been planning events for ten years. Next I'm going to talk about how to choose
your reception menu. First you want to look for a caterer who uses organic ingredients.
Most importantly you want to think about using or possibly doing a seated dinner versus a
buffet because that creates a lot less waste. Typically with a buffet they are always going
to overcompensate and give you more food than a seated dinner, it's basically, you're going
to make just exactly for alloted for the amount of guests who are going to be there. So you
might want to think about going the routes of the seated dinner versus a buffet. And
when you're doing that you want to look at for meats and vegetables that are in season
that are possibly locally grown and organic as well. Also you can find beers and wines.
If you want to do wine service with your dinner look for a local winery if you can't find
organic wines or if they're getting a little too expensive you might want to go local with
your wines. And if you have a lot of leftovers that are untouched look online prior to this
because there's a lot of organizations out there that will come and pick up food that's
untouched and they will deliver that to those in need, so you're not just throwing out the
food and wasting it. So those are some tips when choosing your reception menu for your
green-themed wedding.
