Check out this wireless USB to VGA kit. This thing is awesome.
From Iogear. They make great products. Also, neat, innovative stuff.
This one's pretty cool as well. Pretty much this is a USB display adapter,
like the ones from a bunch of other companies,
except this one's got a wireless bridge in between the VGA port and the USB.
So, you plug in this little USB device onto your laptop
and it will wirelessly transmit VGA signal, up to seven twenty p,
through here out to your monitor, which is really, really cool.
Now, let's talk a little about the resolution. So you heard me say seven twenty p,
but that's if you're going to a high-def TV. It will go above that if you are doing a monitor.
So let's talk about resolution. 1600 by 1200, if you're square,
or if you're widescreen and a little bit cooler, 1680 by 1050 is the maximum resolution it will do.
It will extend your desktop to the right, to the left,
you can clone, and what I kind of realised is really great for it is,
if you have, like, let's say a projector and it's mounted somewhere in your house,
you don't want to run a VGA cable all the way over there,
or a DVI cable or an HTMI cable, you just run one of these.
And you pretty much... it comes with a little Velcro,
I don't know where it's at but in the box there's a little piece of Velcro
and you can kind of Velcro it to the bottom, right? Stick it there and then grab this,
stick it on the back of the monitor and, boom!
Whenever you want, you just plug this little dongle in,
and you'll have instant wireless to your projector
So that's what I figured out it's really good for. Or to your big display, your television,
whatever you want! It's great. It works from thirty feet away,
uses regular old wi-fi technology, you know, 2.4 GHz range.
So when you're looking at this box, pretty much your VGA is going to come out through here.
You do need to supply power to this device, it does come with a built in adaptor.
You have a "reset" button, a "host" button which in turn is pretty much just an on/off button
it'll pretty much just kill the monitor.
You have a USB here cause you can also do the wire,
you don't actuall have to go wireless.
If you want, this little dipswitch right here, you switch it over to "wired",
and you can go via USB, turn it into a regular old USB adaptor.
So that's also posible. And then you do have your antenna.
It also gives you a little indicator right there to tell you how much signal strength you have.
As you can see, right now it's lit up to three. Well, you can't see it, but I can see it.
So I have power and I have three bars of signal, which is more than enough
to get a crystal clear picture, as you can see.
Let me show you dragging my desktop into this screen. There you go.
You can clone it, you can do pretty much whatever you want.
It's very simple. It's pretty cheap, you know?
It's more than a display adaptor,
but it's less than a display adaptor and a wireless bridge included.
Which are the components that go in here. So I think that's good.
Great little product. Iogear.
