A cheerful bunch of Malian supporters sang, chanted and played the drums outside the Moses
Mabhida stadium in Durban, ahead of their clash against host team South Africa.
Last time the two teams met in the quarter finals of the African cup of nations was back
in 2002 were Mali were victorious.
Malian fans are confident they can win again.
"We are used to beating the host country and tonight will be no exception. Tonight we will
defeat South Africa. I think we will 2-1.
South African supporters were not as loud as their Malian counterparts ahead of the
game, but they are sure to outnumber the Malian supporters and feel confident about Bafana
Bafana's chances to win.
"I think Bafana Bafana will win this match 2-1. It will be a tough game."
South Africa are looking to reach their first semi-final since 2000.
Mali finished in third place during the 2012 Afcon and will be hoping to go one step further
in South Africa.
