I was always upset when racing, I even treated my own teammates badly because I was demanding a lot
but it's important to have the courage and honesty to openly speak reality.
He (Eddy Merckx) was stronger then me: he was faster than me in the prologues, when he attacked
in the climbing sections, I could possibly hold on when the gradient was steep, he was
a better sprinter... the only doubt I have - but it's kind of a conjecture - concerns
the fact that he didn't enter long time trials a lot (those over 80-85km),
and I think he didn't because he was slightly worried of contesting me.
Now, since you are challenging me, I will tell you something:
without Eddy,I would have won as much as Coppi: 5 Giro d'Italia and 2 Tour de France. Period.
