We present you
the last film by Gustav and Bruno
Five
Gustav: Bruno, I don't know what to do…He took everything.
Bruno: What happened?
G: Yesterday, while I was home, a man appeared out of nowhere.
G: He hit me with a baseball bat and took all my money!
B: Oh, I'm sorry. That's terrible.
G: Yes, of course. And now, I have neither my money nor my driver's license. Plus, I have a horrible headache.
B: Too bad. So what will you do about this?
G: Get revenge. I will make suffer the man who did this to me.
B: Oh no, surely you're just joking.
G: Not at all. Look at me - I have nothing. I need revenge.
B: Revenge? No, that's never justified. You must accept your anger. You must not continue the suffering.
G: I don't have the time to listen to you. I need revenge!
B: Wait, wait. I will tell you a story. You will see that revenge is never a good idea.
B: Once upon a time, there was a father, Sebastian, who had lost every one of his sons, except one, in a horrible war.
This story will follow the last son, Yves.
Sebastian: No, I forbid you from going to war!
Yves: You forbid me from doing everything! I'm an adult; I can make decisions myself!
S: But my son, you must understand why I forbid you from this - every one of your brothers was killed in this war.
Each was killed by a ferocious man.
Y: But I am strong enough. I can fight him - I will survive.
S: But Yves, my son, each of your brothers said the same. They thought they could win, but nonetheless, each died.
Y: Father, you think I am weak. I am 18, and thus, I can fight in the army.
S: But why? There's no reason to fight. You are my sole son now, and I cannot afford to lose you.
Y: I want revenge! The ferocious man killed each of my brothers, and I will avenge them.
Y: Dad, I know this is hard for you, but I will return. You will see.
S: Yes, it is difficult. But you're right, the decision is up to you. But please, be careful.
Y: I always will be, Dad.
S: Goodbye, my last son.
Y: Goodbye, father.
Yves: Excuse me, sir. I am marching to war, but I've eaten all my food.
Xavier: Some food? Oh yes, I have some.
Y: And can you share some?
X: Yes, one second.
X: Sir, what's your name?
Y: Yves, and you?
X: My name is Xavier.
X: So, you said that you're going to war, by why? War is terrible, and you could die!
Y: I need revenge! A ferocious man killed each of my brothers.
X: Really? Oh my god, I'm sorry.
Y: I'm done with sadness. Now, there is only my need to kill this man. He killed all my brothers!
X: Sir, it's certainly your decision, but in my opinion, revenge is never a wise idea.
Y: What do you know about it? You're just a crazy old man. You will never truly understand suffering.
X: Suffering? I've seen more of it than anyone on Earth.
X: I was 8 years old. I was only a kid, without any worries. During this time, there was terrible war, similar to today.
X: My parents, prudently, wanted to hide me during the war. So they sent me to stay with my grandparents.
X: Two years later, the war had finished, and I returned home.
X: But there, I found that my entire family had been killed by soldiers.
X: It was horrible. Even to this day, I still have nightmares.
Y: Dear god, that is so sad. But my family is already dead. I must kill the man who took their lives.
X: But sir, war is hell! All who submit to war continue the suffering.
X: If you go to war to kill your adversary, you will continue the sadness that you know so well.
Y: You're wrong. The only way to end my sadness is with ***.
X: That will end nothing. You are foolish for thinking that.
Y: That's enough! I've already listened to you enough. Now, I will leave you for my revenge.
X: What a fool. He will never understand that violence solves nothing.
Y: Ah, finally, the war. After having lost all my brothers, I have my final chance to avenge them.
Y: For my brothers!
Y: Hello. My name is Yves. You killed all my brothers. Prepare to die.
B: So, I've finished my story. I hope you understood my message.
G: Yes, now I see that revenge is never wise. It is only human - the desire, the need for vengeance.
Y: But those who are truly wise understand that everyone has a choice. Those who are wise choose to avoid suffering.
Y: And if everyone chooses to avoid suffering, the world will become better for everyone.
