Hello, hello, hello! Long time no see!
I hope the time that passed since my latest videoblog post didn’t seem to long for you.
These months have been unbelievably difficult.
But I’ve made it, and today we are in the amazing city of Rostov-on-Don,
in terms of the Easter festival.
Valery Gergiev, the Mariinsky orchestra and me have come here to play Burlesque by Strauss.
Yesterday we were in Krasnodar, the day before yesterday in Voronezh
the day after tomorrow I will be in Moscow.
An unbelievable amount of exciting things has occurred in these 2 months,
there has been a lot of concerts.
I promise not to disappear like this again, I will broadcast more regularly.
May, 2, on Valery Gergiev’s birthday we will play Prokofiev, piano concerto no.3
in the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatoire.
Then, on May, 17 there will be a chamber music concert
in terms of my personal subscription series: my friends Borya Andrianov, Alena Baeva,
the Borodin quartet and me will perform quintet by Bartok.
On May, 20, I will play with Zubin Mehta and the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra
Tchaikovsky, piano concerto no.1.
And on May, 29, at the Oleg Yankovsky prize in terms of the Bosco di Ciliegi festival,
I also make a special programme together with my friends.
Everything is going on, the craziness is going on.
Tonight, as I have already said, we are going to play Burlesque by Strauss.
Do you know the most amazing thing about the Easter festival?
We play not only Tchaikovsky or Rachmaninov, we play very diverse pieces.
We want to show the public the unfairly forgotten pieces
that deserve to be on stage, like Burlesque by Strauss
or Totentanz by Liszt which we played the day before yesterday in Krasnodar.
I don’t say goodbye, because we will see each other very soon!
