Next Step:
Locate power point icon on the tool bar.
If it is not there do not worry.
Go to the finder icon and double click.
Double click on applications and scroll through.
Find the Microsoft office folder.
Double click, then you should see the power point icon.
Double click.

different templates available for use.
We are going to use the white plain template.
Double click on the icon that says “white”.
Now we have our blank presentation ready to start.
First, click where it says...
“Click to add a title”, we are going to click here.
Type the title of your presentation.
Demo Presentation.
Click where it says ‘add a subtitile’, you can type your name in this area.
That is
how to make your title slide.
Next step is to add a
slide, so go up to
toolbar at the top of the screen. Click on insert.
Click on new slide.
This gives us our next slide.
Insert a couple of new slides.
Insert
three new slides.
The first slide is a basic slide.
Spot at the top for the title.
One large box at the bottom for the text.
For this slide we will keep the layout the same.
Add title.
Then go to the larger box at the bottom.
You can add in any text you want.
Add any sentence you want in front of the first bullet.
Hit enter.
Gives you another bullet.
Type a second sentence.
Hit enter again for as many bullets as you want.
You can change anything you want, just like if you were in a word document.
Change the size of the font.
Change the size and type of the font.
Change the box the text is in, by dragging the corner to make smaller or larger.
That concludes slide number 1.
For the third slide, I want to change the layout.
Click on the third slide, on the left hand side.
The layout right now is
title at the top and text at the bottom.
It can be changed.
Click on the layout button on the left hand side of the screen.
You can see the different choices of how your page can look.
First choice is the title slide, second choice is
how our layout looks now. Third is
if you wanted two headers/titles.
Fourth, is if you want to separate
the left and right hand side.
Click on that, it says two content.
Click in the title area and type in your title.
Select your title and change the font.
Underline the slide title.
Make the title bold.
This slide allows you to have a text on the left and the right.
For the text on the left we can import a picture.
To import a picture, click
on the bottom left box
located in the middle of the screen.
Hold the cursor over each icon in the middle of left box and it will tell you what they are for.
Click on the icon that says, import picture from file.
Then another box pops up
and you can select your picture.
You should have previously saved the picture.
I am going to use my file with an animated computer student.
Select the file and click insert.
After the picture has been inserted you can resize the object.
By clicking on the bottom left or
bottom right, top left,
top right. This pulls the picture in and out.
To make the picture larger and smaller
horizontally, click on the left or the right
buttons and drag. To make the picture larger or smaller
vertically, click on the top and bottom buttons
and drag.
On the right hand side of our slide
click in the area to add text.
Type any text you would like.
Hit enter for another bullet.
Change the font for you text.
Made font larger.
Resize the box the text is in.
Just like you did with the picture.
This leaves more room for more pictures.
To make a border around your text.
For example, you wanted to put the text you just typed in an outlined box.
This will make your text stand out.
Go to the top toolbar (tan colored) and click on the tables button.
Look over on the right hand side
where it says draw borders.
Right under draw table, you can choose what type of line you want by clicking on the drop down arrow.
Choose the 1pt. box right below that, which selects how thick you want your border to be.
I chose 2.25.
To draw the box, click on the pencil button.
That says draw.
With the pencil cursor, go to your text.
Click, hold down and drag around your text.
You should see a very faint box being drawn around the text.
Then release, once your box is the size you want.
Click off of the box.
You should then see your box around the text.
To delete a slide…
click on the one you want to delete
It should be highlighted in orange.
Right click on the slide.
Click the option -> delete.
Another way to delete is to
click on the slide
and hit the delete button on your keyboard.
To rearrange your slides
so that the last slide is after the title slide.
Click on the slide you would like to move.
I am moving slide #2, so I clicked on it on the left hand side.
It should be outlined in orange. I click and hold.
Drag the slide up so that it is after the title slide.
To change the background or theme on your presentation….
Click on themes near the top of the screen. (It is one of the tan menu items)
You have a lot of themes to choose from
Click on the arrow to scroll through the available themes.
Choose a theme.
Double click on it.
You are looking at the title slide.
Click on each slide on the left to see what they will look like.
Different themes can change
your text and title locations on the slide.
Look at the third slide, I do not see my title. It is behind the text.
I click where the text is, and move the box down
by dragging the top button down. Then I can see the title.
Click on the second slide.
I do not see the title.
Click on the text box.
Drag the text down.
Drag the box you drew down as well, so that it is around the text.
Move the picture to find the title.
Click on the picture and drag it down to reveal the title.
You can also move the title.
Click on the title to see your box.
Then drag the box around.
Hold the cursor at the top of the box, so you see the cursor with four arrows.
This allows you to move
the entire box around on the screen.
Lastly, you need to preview your slideshow before showing to an audience.
Look at the bottom left of your screen. You should see three small icons.
Hold the cursor so that it hovers over the icons. Starting with the left most icon….
it says, normal view, this is the view you are looking at now.
The next view is sorter view.
Click on it.
This allows you to look at all slides at once.
The next button on the bottom left is the slide show button.
Click on it. It will take you into your slide show.
Use the arrow keys to move back and forth.
Try it by moving to the left and right in the slide show.
Whatever slide is highlighted when you hit the slide show button
is the slide it will take you to in your slide show
Now you have some of the basics of creating a power point.
If you try it and play around
you will be able to figure out more new applications in power point.
