In this next clip I want to show you how to automatically lose the game in 8 ball. Okay,
earlier I talked about it. If you're shooting the 8 ball, remember you don't lose the game
if you scratch or foul or jump, jump another ball or the cue ball if the 8 ball is not
made. So if you hit the 8 ball and it doesn't get made and you scratch, it's not a loss.
But if you do make the 8 ball and you scratch, and you jump the table, even in tournament
play as well as bar play, you automatically lose the game. Another way of losing the game
is you're shooting your last ball in your group of balls, and you're shooting that ball
and in the same stroke you also make the 8 ball, you lose the game, as well as if you
do that in tournament play or a bar table. One other way of losing 8 ball automatically
is when you pocket the ball in the wrong pocket. I call it in this corner, it hits the rails,
goes in the far corner, it goes in, you didn't pocket that ball in the right pocket, you
didn't pocket the 8 ball in the "called" pocket, you automatically lose. Again, lastly, this
is for tournament, and for regular bar table, and for most of the rules in 8 ball, is, the
last rule is when you illegally pocket the ball, and it's not an object ball. So if you're
just shooting balls, and you accidentally hit it in, game over, you lose.
