Now its time to consider eye health, obviously a very major part of diabetes can
be damage particularly to the retinas of the eyes, macular damage as well. That was true
for me.
Around the 2005 time when I was told I had to go on to insulin I had some more photographs
taken of my eyes and there was plenty of damage in both eyes, cotton wool spot, lots of new
growth of blood vessels, lot going on.
I was told that we’ll keep an eye on you Mr Faulkner
but you’re pretty close to needing laser surgery,
you’re really damaging your eyes.
Bearing in mind at the same time I’m told I am beginning to have kidney damage
and I was also losing nerve feeling in my toes
which subsequently by the way that stopped getting any worse,
that’s fine, getting my sugar levels under control, that part of it was fine.
The eye health side of it was really very dynamic.
During the program, three months intensive the first stage I was on,
as I said my sugar levels came down to manageable levels I went back to see my
eye specialist and he looked at my eyes and he said I don’t understand what’s happening
here Mr Faulkner at all.
I’ll have to go and check the originals of the last time
and he went to have a look and he came back and he said
“I don’t know what’s happening here because you’ve reversed all the eye damage
in one eye and almost all in the other.
Your eyes look really very good, they’re so far away from where they were last time,”
which of course was good news.
He didn’t have time to ask what I was doing but he said whatever you are doing,
keep doing it. Which funnily enough I’ve heard that from
everybody. So that was terrific.
Subsequently I’ve had eye photographs done and I’m told that I’m well clear of laser
surgery and everything has improved nicely and we’re going in
the right direction. So another big success is my eye health.
Also during the three months on the intensive program I found I had to go to back to the
optician twice and have my eyes tested because in fact my eyes were improving, my eyesight
was improving by two stages.
And today I’m wearing glasses that are two steps lower than they were when I started
this program and I live in hope of it going further, and I think it probably will.
So hopefully I can help you the same if you’re worried about eye damage,
or neuropathy or kidney damage at all, this program is probably for you.
You’ll find there is a lot more information around how it works, how its
done in an Ebook I have produced which will give you a lot more information than I’ve
got time to give you.
So be inspired, get on the program, and do what you can to fight diabetes too.
I’ve been fighting it and there’s no reason why you shouldn’t either
and I’ve been managing it pretty much on my own.
It’s my program, I developed it. To be honest I’ve had very little support from diabetic
nurses or doctors, they’re not really very interested in this.
So that’s it, improve your eyes, get on the program. I hope it works for you I truly
do. I hope it works as well as it has worked for
me. These days I feel so much more relaxed,
I feel far less worried about degrading losing limbs, losing my eyesight,
that’s all well off in the future and hopefully it’s not going to happen at all.
Thanks for watching.
