Frigidaire WF2CB Hey everyone, Aquaman here with FilterDoctor.com.
Today we’re looking at the Frigidaire WF2CB. You may also know it as the Pure Source 2.
This cartridge replaces many cartridges, including the FC100, the NGFC2000 and the Sears 04609911000.
Now, there is something I want to point out about this cartridge. I’m going to zoom
in here and show you an ultrasonic welding debris that has caused some clients some frustration
and concern. There is nothing unsafe about this that I’m about to show you. Check it
out. What I’d like you to notice is this white
scraggly material here. This is the remnant of an ultrasonic welding process, this material
has been approved by NSF Standard 42, it is harmless, it is inert, and it cannot get through
the carbon block to the other side where it would be in your drinking water. A lot of
people see this, and they think the cartridge is bad or defective and is falling apart,
that is not the case. All of these filters have this ultrasonic welding process remnant.
It is harmless and inert. The filter is also NSF Standard 42 and 53
certified, which means there is a long list of contaminants that it removes including,
chlorine taste and odor, sediment, lindane, atrazine, lead, mercury, asbestos, dichloroethylene,
cysts and microorganisms like cryptosporidium and giardia and many other nasties that you
simply don’t want in your drinking water. Filter life is typical for a fridge filter,
approximately 400 gallons or six months, whichever comes first. At FilterDoctor.com we strongly
urge you never to go longer than six months on your fridge filter change, because it just
simply is a bad idea. Again, this is the Frigidaire WF2CB, also
known as the Pure Source 2, and I’m your host Aquaman with FilterDoctor.com.
Thanks for watching.
