In 2005, I was faced with some difficult times; our house got hit by Hurricane Rita, my
husband was diagnosed with MS and then I was laid off from work. I knew things had to change.
>> She realized I have got to do something else and that is what led her to Penn State.
>> My name is Sabrina Worsham; I am alum at Penn State World Campus.
>> My name is Judge Robert Worsham and I am an alum of Penn State World Campus.
>> I needed to go back to college and get my bachelor's degree. Psychology at Penn State
is a
very well respected program; it was everything I looked for. Definitely my husband, he
motivated me the entire time.
>> It's not easy to sit there and have life's challenges come at you and then go back to
school and be in your 30s when you go back to school.
>> I enrolled in the degree program through World Campus mainly because of my wife's
inspiration. I was impressed at how far she was going and she's balancing all of this
and I
realized if she could do it,I needed to do it. Because of the World Campus, I was able
to keep
my mind stimulated, constantly learning in a setup that worked for me and it had a fantastic
impact, it generally did.

And when it came time to go to this campus for graduation day, it's amazing to just see
everything.
>> It was the first day that I had ever stepped foot onto the Penn State campus and I was
just
in awe.
>> And you must go get ice cream, the Berkey Creamery is delicious.
>> Graduation was one of the most thrilling days of my entire life.
>> I am a Nittany Lion, I graduated from Penn State, I held a 4.0 grade point average when
I
graduated and I'm very proud of all the hard work that went into that. I'm a born and bred
Texan but I bleed blue and white.
>> Walking across that stage, I remember thinking wow, I really just did it, that surreal
experience of four years, it's here and it's done.
After graduation, I ended up getting a job offer for an underwriter for Farmers Insurance
and
I completely attribute it to my degree in psychology at Penn State. Everyone around
me always
said I don't know how you were able to go work full time, go to school full time, I
didn't
look at it ever as an option that I couldn't.
