The Suwon District Court has decided that leftist lawmaker Lee Seok-ki of the Unified
Progressive Party violated the National Security Law and has been found guilty of leading a
clandestine pro-North Korea group called the Revolutionary Organization.
The reading of the verdict, which began roughly two hours ago, is still going on as we speak.
The court said it has found that Lee has pro-North Korea documents in his possession and has
previously sung North Korean military songs, both of which are prohibited under the South's
National Security Law. Two weeks ago South Korean prosecutors demanded
a 20-year prison term for Lee.
