Man sought in identity-swap prison-dodge ***
Kaohsiung First University of Science and Technology student
Chang Jhih-tian, 29, was burned to death in this car.
Police have already identified a suspect Sun Guo-guang, 33.
According to police investigations, the two were
members of the same Internet discussion group.
Sun was recently sentenced to 8 1/2 years in jail for *** assault.
and was due to start the sentence on Nov. 12.
Police believe because Sun couldn't face prison
he killed Doctoral student Chang last Tuesday,
and then arranged it to look like his own suicide.
Even leaving a suicide note next to the body,
claiming he'd killed himself because he couldn't face prison.
However, an autopsy revealed the corpse's
fingerprints did not match those of Sun.
Police found that two days after Chang's death
on Nov. 16 Sun allegedly got an acquaintance to obtain
a replacement driving license in Chang's name.
Replacing the photo of Chang with one of Sun.
Police allege he then used the new license to
obtain a new ID card.
The official questioned the likeness of Sun to the records,
but that Sun convinced him to issue the card,
saying he had put on weight, police said.
The police team said they suspect Sun
set the car and Chang's body alight on Pianpi Mountain
as it was impossible for one person to have done so.
Police said they doubt anyone else was involved but
are continuing with their investigation.
