Because of what you're doing today, you're making a statement. You're gonna come back
and take a look at that statement over and over again with your families to make sure
that this lake is restored to what it once was and that is a great place for families
to come and enjoy Sunday afternoon or any-other day of the week.
Volunteers let us put a personal touch to it. So the giving now down is to a person.
The Green Team really has spurred this on. We have a phenomenal green team that does
a great job with environmental projects and so what important to us is that the team wants
renovations they want us to be environmentally responsible. And so there here to support
it and that's why it's important because the team wants us to do it. It's good for the
community; it's good for the city.
Well you know the Green Team has only been around for a couple of years. So we really
thought it would be a great collaboration with the city of Omaha to make a name for
Wells Fargo and our green team with Wells Fargo and just help support such a great contribution
to the city
Wells Fargo knows that they have a huge responsibility to be a great start to the environment and
it goes into our commitment to reduce our own energy footprint. And so its important
to us. We are a very large company, lots of team members and we can make a difference.
If we are environmentally sound, if we are environmentally responsible it can make a
difference not only in our community but in our country.
We were able to donate fifty thousand dollars. We are going to be using that money towards
energy efficient windows, the doors to open up to it. But basically we came out here with
all of our volunteers to help dig holes, plant some trees, and also just pick up trash around
the pavilion.
It just adds to our quality of life and helps us to appreciate more of what we have. It
stead of standing around waiting for Joe to do it, guess what Joe isn't here anymore its
us. We've got to figure out how to keep parks pristine and do that in a cooperative effort
between your city government and your private sector.
Being a parks guy. We have so many groups that help out, and if we didn't have them.
Like I said before we have two hundred and ten parks and over ten thousand acres. With
the staff that we have we can't maintain the parks in all facets as good as we would like
too. So having groups, such as Wells Fargo sent out there today, really gives us the
opportunity to do things we typically wouldn't be able to do right now.
It's important for me. This is our earth, this is our planet. We want to make sure we
doing everything that we can to keep it going forever, and just make sure that we make a
difference. Everyone can make a contribution to help save the planet.
Applaud the green team these guys are doing it every day.
