This is John Kohler with okraw.com. I have another exciting episode for you and what
we're doing today is actually we're on a field trip right there at the birthplace of Las
Vegas, Nevada. This is just like where Vegas started. Actually, the old Mormon fort that
build in the 1800's and, you know, this is not going to be a history lesson for you guys
today, but what it is going to be about is about your diet and you can see behind me
we got a nice wagon. This wagon is actually from the 1800's, so I'm going, yes, get up
on the wagon. Alright, now we're on an 1800's wagon, and the reason why I'm on the wagon
today is because, you know, for the brand new year everybody makes up new years resolutions.
Maybe your new years resolution was to get healthier, was to make some dietary changes,
maybe it was to go all raw, maybe it was to eat more fruit, maybe it was to eat more vegetables,
but whatever it is, you know, we're 2 weeks into the year now but whatever it is, you
know, it may or may not be going too well. I mean, for a lot of people, and some of my
friends included, you know, they've contacted me and said, 'Hey, John, we're into the year,
already 2 weeks, and I've already fell off the wagon with my diet.' Well, guess what?
We're on the back of the wagon, and just for you guys I'm going to fall off. So, I fell
off the wagon. A real wagon, but many of you guys might've fell of the wagon with your
diet, but guess what? If you fall off the wagon, guess what? You can get back on the
wagon again, and, you know, every day is anew day. Just because the New Year happened you
could have these great goals, but guess what? Every day you wake up is a brand new day and
you have a new opportunity to make those changes that you wanted to make in the New Year, and
you don't have to wait 'til next year to do it. So, if you fall off the wagon, be thankful
that you could still get back up and get on the wagon. I mean, back in the olden days
when people would actually fall off the wagon and that term was actually came up with because
people would be boozed up and drinking ***, they'd fall off the top of the front of the
wagon, I mean, and that's tall up, man, and they might actually lose their life, but guess
what? Falling off the dietary wagon or whatever wagon you fall off of, it doesn't matter.
You can always get back on the wagon. So, you know, for me, staying on the wagon is
actually just eating a healthy diet that's rich in fresh fruits and fresh vegetables.
Every day I strive to eat more fresh fruits and vegetables than the day before and I encourage
you guys to maybe have that goal as well. Really easy ways to do this are number one,
eat whole fresh fruits and vegetables. Really simple. Grab and apple, grab a banana, you
know. Have some apples or bananas or better yet some citrus, 'cause they store and travel
a little but better, in your car for snacks. Have a big bowl, you know, at work on your
desk. Have a big bowl or nice displays in your kitchen at home, especially if you have
kids or family members who you also want to encourage to eat healthier. Have food available
so that you can eat it at any time instead of going for something else, because if you
have good stuff, you will grab that first, hopefully. Another thing is eat more vegetables.
Eat more whole vegetables. I don't like to eat a whole lot of whole vegetables, but I
eat one salad d ay in general. The salad should be your main meal and main course. If you're
eating other stuff, eat a big salad and then eat smaller portion sizes of the other stuff
you like. Besides eating the whole fruits and vegetables, you can also juice them. So,
juicing, I like to juice my vegetables, but eat my fruits whole or blend them, but by
juicing you can actually get a lot more quantity of the most nutrient dense foods, especially
the leafy green vegetables. If you do need a juicing appliance, please check my website
discountjuicers.com. I have over 250 videos that share what juicer may be the best for
you, and finally include more fruits and vegetables in your diet is by blending. So, I like to
blend up my fruits and also make green smoothies. I also will make blended soups and blended
salad. You know, blending is another great way to break up the heard fibrous cell walls
of the vegetables that you'll get better digestion out of them. Hopefully with these tips, you'll
now be able to get back on the wagon, eat more fresh fruits and vegetables and minimize
all the other things you may be eating in your diet. Once again, I want you guys to
remember. Tomorrow is a new day. Even if you screw up today, you can start fresh tomorrow
and I want you guys to set yourself up for success instead of failure. If you have the
goal, 'I want to be 100% raw,' and you eat one little cookie, 'cause, you know, we're
all human and we may give into temptation sometimes, you know, you're setting yourself
up for failure. If instead your goal is, 'I'm going to eat one extra fruit a day,' 'I'm
going to eat one extra mournful of salad today,' then you're a success. So, build on your successes
instead of falling down and falling off the wagon onto your failures. Hopefully with these
tips and techniques, you'll be able to increase your fruit and vegetable consumption, and
you can actually start a new day tomorrow and do it up with more fresh, ripe, and raw
food in your life. Once again, my name is John Kohler with okraw.com. We'll see you
next time, as I hop off the wagon and eat more fruits and vegetables.
