Hi, I'm Josh Rimer!
And I'm Owen Clark.
And today we're going to show you how to turn a t-shirt that is totally drab,
into one that's totally fab.
Yep.
So keep on watching, to learn how to make your own sequin-detailed t-shirt.
And you won't even need to sew it.
[sound effects]
This stylish update to your wardrobe is primarily for women,
unless you are super-fabulous like me,
and we're going to make Owen super-fabulous today.
So, all you're going to need is a t-shirt...
Yep.
Some sequin trim, a piece of chalk, a pen and paper, scissors, and Speed-Sew!
So, Owen, you know these fashions are all the rage with skinny jeans?
Yeah?
You just can't get into them! [laughter]
Okay, so the first thing we're gonna do,
is use the paper to do an outline of our shirt,
so that we can add a Peter Pan-style collar.
And then, you're going to cut that out, to create our template.
Owen, my favorite way to dress is in all black.
Why?
Because it's second-to-nun!
Oh, God. [laughter]
Then you draw around that collar template with a piece of chalk.
And then, flip it over, to create the other side of the collar.
Hey, Owen, how do farmers mend their clothing?
How, Josh?
With cabbage patches!
[laughter]
After that, you add two circles below the center of the collar,
where the two pieces have met.
And then, place the sequin over top of the circle,
so that you could measure it out, and cut the right amount needed.
Hey, Owen, why do golfers wear their two t-shirts when they golf?
Why, Josh?
In case they get a hole-in-one!
Eee...heh...heh...heh.
And now, you add some Speed-Sew
over the top of the circles that you drew with the chalk,
and Owen's gonna use a pencil to help keep it nice and thin.
And then carefully place the sequined trim over the top of the glue.
Owen, what is the difference between a nicely dressed man on a tricycle,
and a poorly dressed man on a bicycle?
What's the difference?
A tire!
[chuckling]
Then add Speed-Sew over top of the collar chalk lines.
You could, of course, use something like a toothpick,
if you don't want to use a pencil. It's up to you.
And carefully place the sequined trim over top of that, now.
But don't cut it off when you're done.
Owen, I actually went to buy a camouflage t-shirt the other day,
but I couldn't find any.
Huh?
They're camouflage! A-ha!
Okay.
[laughter]
Once the front is dry enough for it to stay in place, about 15 minutes or so,
you're gonna flip the shirt over, and then you're gonna add Speed-Sew along the back,
equal distance from the collar.
And then, continue the sequined trim along that, cutting it off,
when you get back to where you started, on the front.
Owen, I don't know about you, but I've never understood the fashion industry.
Those people are so clothes-minded! [laughter]
I didn't have to say anything.
No. And there you have it.
What started out as a very bland and boring t-shirt
has now become something very stylish and attention-getting.
And very cool.
Yes. So, wear this when you wanna stand out in a crowd and be seen!
