This exhibition is the first exhibition that we are hosting in "Le Dernier Bar avant La Fin Du Monde"
I'm very happy and proud of it
Mostly because it has been a long time that I wanted to open this bar
And the fact that there is a first exhibition
Means that we have come a long way and that a lot is still to come
And also because it is done by the gallery Aoji
With Japanese illustrators
I have worked a lot with Japan
On Manga, on Japanese Animation
And I love this particular universe
I think it's great that, nowadays, a new generation of people
who have grown up with that kind of images
Come to apreciate Japanese graphics, its artworks and artists
as a new artistic movement
And you, what did you think about the exhibition ?
Really wonderful, a great exhibition
I already knew the gallery AOJI
And I heard about this exhibition
And I thought "let's go !", to a bar I didn't know before
And it's really in harmony with the bar's theme
I really liked it too, I already knew the bar
And it's a great place with a lot of different atmospheres
And I thought that, indeed, the exhibition fits very well with those different atmospheres
The first floor has bright and cheerful artworks
The more you go dowstairs
the more it gets darker and a little bit stranger
It was really cool
Is there any illustration you liked in particular ?
Yes there was one I really liked,
It's the illustration called Gyoukou
which has been created simultaneously by 2 artists during Japan Expo 2012
I've been there at the time
It was really cool to see these two artists working together
And they created a wonderful artwork
And I also really liked the artworks in the stairway
When you arrive and you see that it's the end of the world
with such apocalyptic images
It was really nice and deep
And I also liked the fact that
different new types of materials have been used like aluminium and plexiglas
it added a nice depth, I really enjoyed it
Thank you !
