Mickaël Rouyer, director of the Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux appellation: The Blaye Spring Wine Fair is the stand-out event for the Côtes de Bordeaux appellation.
the Côtes de Bordeaux appellation. It's 80 winegrowers who are in the Citadel of Blaye for a weekend,
it's tastings, of course, with Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux winegrowers,
but there are also other events, including tasting workshops,
cookery lessons, blending workshops where you can make your own wine,
and excursions -- boat trips on the estuary,
walks around the Citadel and trips in a tractor-train round the Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux vineyards.
Visitor: We walk around, we taste wines, we see friends who have châteaux.
If you like good wine, it's always interesting to know how it's made.
Visitor: It was very relaxed and friendly and we really liked it.
Franck Jullion, president of the Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux appellation: The Blaye winegrowers are there to propose their wines
but above all to talk about the appellation, their wine, their passion, their terroir and their region.
Laëtitia Mauriac, winegrower, Château La Levrette: It gives us feedback about our wines, it's interesting to see what people think and feel,
and it's also to make yourself known, get people to talk about you and introduce them
to the wines they can find in the region.
Dominique Raimond, winegrower, Château Solidaire: The public are absolutely delighted with the concept.
Lots of people come back every year,
they bring their friends.
We see an enormous number of young people, it's really paid off for the appellation.
Valérie Nativel, winegrower, Château Pinet La Roquette: As a winegrower, but also for the customer, I'd say,
because the customer will come and compare and also appreciate us,
each one with our particular characteristics.
Miss Vicky Wine, wine blogger, Connétable en Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux: It was my first Spring Wine Festival and also the first day of spring.
We've had really good weather, we've been lucky.
There's a great atmosphere.
I was really pleased to be able to go out on the estuary, you get the best view of the Citadel.
It's really friendly, with lots of people.
Valérie Nativel: I hope the Spring Wine Festival will keep going for a long time to come.
It's a great event, the people are happy, so it's great.
