go ahead and tell us your name, Jessie and Jessie how long have you been at Wingate
seven weeks and what were some of the challenges that got you
here, Like why I’m here? yeh, oh, well
drug use, drug addiction, specifically, really I just
I clearly was not happy with my life or myself
and, that just manifested itself in so many different ways, my mom noticed that and so
She sent me to WinGate
Very good, and, what have you learned about Jessie
I learned that she's, amazing, I really like her I mean I have to be around her for a pretty long time so I guess I should get used to it
I learned that I am very
caring, That I am very controlling
I learned that I am addict, and that I have a addictive personality
I learned that I, for a long time
I did not love myself
and I learned how to love myself and I, I really just
I was given the tools to be happy and peaceful and centered and who helped you to
find out these, wonderful things about yourself
everyone, staff, students, parents, therapist
Awesome, is the wilderness a great place to find yourself? yeh
My dad, was, well he passed,
but he was absolutely in love with nature
He spent his whole life working in it so I felt really connected to him, and it was very grounding humbling, to be out in nature
What kind of advice would you give a future person who might be considering coming here
be prepared to, jeez, that’s hard
the advice I would have given myself is to
really come in with an open mind, and I think I kind of did that, but I think that’s what helped me move along pretty quick
was
keeping an open mind and being open and honest
As long as your honest, staff, and Rachael, and your parents, and
your peers will see that and honesty will get you very far
especially if your honest with other people then you'll start to be honest with yourself.
and that’s really important to growth. that is great advice, where are you going when you leave WinGate.
Therapeutic Boarding school ahh, and how do you like that idea?
I kind of choose it for myself, I came to the decision was what I wanted was to go home but what I needed
Was not to go home, ahh, wise
young lady at the ripe young old age of what? seventeen
Well thank you for sharing, sharing your story with us a little bit here today and we wish you lots of success and happiness
Thank you take care
