Somehow, you know, one day moved to two days,
to three days, to a week.
And that was so important to me,
to have these important calendar periods.
But one day, I was going riding, and my roommate said to me,
"Do me a favor, pick me up a pack of cigarettes,"
on my way out the door, and I was like, you know,
he's saying it to me like that, like I'll just go and do that,
but I can't involve myself in your addiction.
Because it-it-it's dragging me back to it, you know?
I don't want to carry around cigarettes.
I don't want to touch them.
So I told him, "No, I'm not going to do that."
I didn't leave and not do it, I just told him,
no, I'm not going to do it, you know I'm trying to quit smoking.
And that had, like, a funny effect on me.
It actually made me proud of myself,
because him seeing that I didn't want the cigarette around me
meant that I was really becoming a nonsmoker.
