Prepare yourself for yet another change in your Facebook timeline. One that could finally
put an end to the two-column woes of Facebook users everywhere. The company is testing out
a simpler layout which addresses previous complaints about the timeline feature.\

Modules, including \'91Places\'92 and \'91Friends\'92 are aligned to the right. A writer for InsideFacebook
says \'93The difference in this design is that these modules are no longer the same
size as posts...\'94\ \
Frustration with the two-column layout was the biggest problem users had with Facebook\'92s
initial redesign. {\field{\*\fldinst{HYPERLINK "http://updates.gizmodo.com/post/34713100446/facebook-is-fixing-the-thing-you-hate-most-about"}}{\fldrslt
\cf4 \ul \ulc4 A writer for Gizmodo sums it up:}}\
\ \'93Complaint numero uno: the double-column
layout is confusing, causing users to panic, unable to discern when events in their lives
happened. Why are these two things next to each other? Which happened first? Where am
I? Who am I?\'94\ \
As is often the case with Facebook changes, not everyone is pleased with the potential
design.{\field{\*\fldinst{HYPERLINK "http://thenextweb.com/facebook/2012/10/31/facebook-confirms-it-is-testing-new-timeline-design-with-just-one-column-for-posts/"}}{\fldrslt \cf4 \ul A writer for The Next Web notes the
irony of a timeline without, well, a timeline}}:\ \
\'93First of all, there\'92s no longer a line down the center that is supposed to make the
profile look like a \'91timeline,\'92 \'85 Furthermore, the right-column is empty if
you scroll down too far, which results in quite a bit of wasted space.\'94\
\ The social media company may be backpedaling
on its design decisions. {\field{\*\fldinst{HYPERLINK "http://news.softpedia.com/news/If-You-Hate-the-Timeline-Don-t-Worry-Facebook-s-Not-Done-Changing-It-303457.shtml"}}{\fldrslt
\cf4 \ul \ulc4 A writer for Softpedia says}} this new layout is an obvious pull from the
past.\ \
\'93It's not hard to realize that the move is a step back towards the old profile or
the current newsfeed look. This new layout should feel more familiar to users and should
placate Facebook page admins as well.\'94\ \
Facebook says it is testing these changes with a small amount of users, but offered
no further information on the update.}
