This viewer asks, "Do you have specific suggestions for supplements and detox diets for women
trying to conceive and during their trimester phases?" Well, good question because health
and nutrition during pregnancy is really important for a healthy pregnancy and a healthy child.
And for conception. We need to think that making a baby, beginning a baby it's like
planting a garden in a sense, you need to have healthy soil, fertile soil. And that
comes about from good nourishment. Getting all the vitamins, minerals, amino acids, fatty
acids, plant foods that will provide that. And avoiding the toxins. So, although I don't
recommend specific detox diets, because really during conception and pregnancy women need
to be nourished a lot more. We know that there's many nutrients that we need at increased levels,
protein, calories, iron, calcium, zinc, many of, you know, B vitamins, most everything
we need a little bit more. So, women have to eat a bit more than they think they need
to. So we definitely don't want to do any extremes like juice cleansing or fasting.
You know, during during this time. Yet, we do, we can always do, if we think about detoxification
as getting nourishment in and getting rid of the toxins, too much sugar, you know, baked
goods, too many calories that aren't nutritious. Too much caffeine, alcohol, and those things.
Those all need to be cleaned up and that's really the basics of what I consider detoxification,
so yes, anybody can eat an improved diet where they're getting more nutritious foods and
getting rid of the toxins in their body. So that, so that's helpful. You know we need
to eat a lot of fresh, wholesome foods, creating a fertile area for the body to conceive and
give birth. Now, realize during pregnancy, you're actually creating out of your own body,
women, you're creating a new being. And that takes a lot of nutrients so we have to eat
more. And even during the first year or two when nursing, you know, may be happening,
you need more calories and more nutrition. And you're feeding that child now to help
he or she grow into a healthy being. You know, so those are some of the basic ideas again
you can do healthy detoxification where you're eating good foods and taking the supplements
you need, but avoiding anything extreme. And talk to your physician or gynecologist about
that and really learn what it takes to do a healthy pregnancy and good health for you.
