Hi. This is The Frosting Guy here from www.K9Cakery.com. That's the letter K, number 9, c a k e r y
dot com. Today we're doing a "Going Nuts For Dog Cake" cake for DogCakeWorld.com. This
is a cake that every single dog is sure to enjoy and it's very, very simple to make.
It's basically a cake that uses peanut butter and honey and it's so simple that you'll see
how quickly it goes together. Now you're going to see today that I'm going to be using these
small miniature uh cupcake pans because these make individual serving size cakes for dogs.
But in this particular case I'm going to recommend to you that you consider one of the silicone
molds from K9Cakery.com because this cake makes such perfect little bone shaped cakes,
bite-sized cakes, or perfect little paw, bite-size paw-shaped cakes. This is just one of those
recipes that works well with this type of a cake pan. Both of these are available and
custom made by K9Cakery.com. Let's go back to the cake mix. We have our basic cake mix
here from K9Cakery.com. This is a whole wheat, all natural cake mix so there's nothing artificial,
no bad stuff in here for your dog. This is something that I would eat or you would eat. To
that, we're going to add our egg. Now I always mention that these cakes are designed to be
made in either the microwave or the conventional oven. The difference is that the microwave
instructions are a little bit different so you're going to want to make sure that you
read the box closely depending on which oven you plan to use. We're making this for the
conventional oven so we put the egg in, we're adding a third of a cup of water, and a quarter
of a cup of oil. Here's what you've got, and then we're going to stir. The whisk is a great
tool to use. You don't really want to use an electric mixer here because it's just overkill.
It's too much power for such a basic simple cake. And you see how nice and quickly this
goes together with just the basic whisk. So in a matter of what, 15, 20 seconds you've
got a nice basic cake mix. Now comes the secret. Since it's a peanut butter based cake, I've
got some peanut butter here that I'm going to use, but you notice this isn't peanut butter
like Jif that you would pull out of a jar. What's the difference? Well, we recommend
that you use partially de-fatted peanut butter powder. Now what does that mean. Well, if
you pick up a jar of peanut butter from the grocery store shelf, and you read the ingredients,
you're going to find there's an awful lot of stuff in there that is not peanuts. You're
going to find sugar, you're going to find fats, you're going to find maybe preservatives.
A lot of things that your dog doesn't need. The partially de-fatted peanut butter powder
that we sell at K9Cakery is peanuts, and it's peanuts that have had fat removed. So you're
taking out the bad stuff and you're leaving only the good stuff, the protein, the quality
part of the peanut and that's where you're getting your peanut butter flavor because
it's just pure peanuts with the fat removed. So on our recipe you see partially de-fatted,
de-fatted peanut butter powder, and that's why. So we're going to add that in. And some
honey. Now you can imagine the taste that you're going to get from this cake, with the
peanut butter powder, and the honey, all mixed together in that nice, rich, whole wheat batter.
And all done. So we go ahead and take some batter and put it into our cupcake mold. Now
you can't get, make cupcakes on a mold like this without making a mess. So it's OK. Make
a mess? Clean it up and the best part of that you get to eat the batter which is nothing
better than peanut butter cake batter. So there we have it the basics of our peanut
butter based cake. Again, I would encourage you to use this particular mold. I just think
this is the right mold for this cake. It's available at K9Cakery.com. It's perfect for
your small dogs or your large dogs and it's great for treats for a party or even training
treats. And if you visit us there you'll find many other options that we have. So. Peanut
butter cake. The Frosting Guy. DogCakeWorld.com. Find everything you need at K9Cakery.com.
