>>Erik: While DJing you also did program management. How did that experience shape your creativity
and expressiveness?
>>Caroline: As a program manager basically my job was to make sure the DJs arrived on
time and didnÕt do things like swear or do anything else that could get us censored.
The funny part about that is that is as program manager, I got us kicked off air. At the time,
it was because I had infuriated the catholic community in Rhode Island by saying something
that was pressuring them too much. So many people called in the station that they were
like ``Well, I think you should take maybe two shifts off.`` I was so upset because it
was right before I was supposed to interview Tori Amos and at the time, I loved her. I
was like ``No, donÕt do this to me, I will make amends with the Catholics.`` The one
thing you don`t want to do in Rhode Island is make war with the Catholics, the Italians,
or the Portuguese. But I learned.
