Attach the (supplied) wrist strap to the camera.
Open the cover.
Insert the battery in this direction.
Close the cover.
Connect the (supplied) micro USB cable to the camera.
Connect it to the computer which is turned on.
While charging, the power/charge lamp is lit in orange.
When charging is completed, the lamp turns off.
This camera supports two types of memory cards.
This is the memory card slot.
Insert the microSD card with the printed side facing up.
Insert it until it clicks.
Insert the "Memory Stick Micro" with the terminal side facing up.
In DSC-QX100, the memory card slot is located here.
Search with "PlayMemories Mobile".
Read the information on the screen carefully to install the application.
When you start up "PlayMemories Mobile™", "License agreement" is displayed for the first time only.
Read it carefully, and tap [Agree] if you agree.
Activate the NFC function on the smartphone.
Open [Settings] on the smartphone.
Select [More...].
Select [NFC] to check. (Operations are different depending on the model of your smartphone.)
Cancel the screen lock on the smartphone.
Bring the N mark on the smartphone in contact with the N mark on the camera.
If there is no N mark on the smartphone, refer to the manual of the smartphone for where to touch.
Don't move the smartphone until "PlayMemories Mobile™" starts up (1-2 seconds).
The connection between the camera and the smartphone is established.
You can find the SSID and the password necessary for setting on the sticker on the cover of the Instruction Manual, or the back of the battery cover of the camera.
Turn on the camera.
Start up "PlayMemories Mobile™" on the smartphone.
Select the corresponding SSID.
Enter the password (for the first time only).
The connection between the camera and the smartphone is established.
Attach the smartphone attachment to the camera.
Align the indexes of the camera and the attachment.
Rotate the attachment while pressing until it clicks into place.
Open the clamps of the attachment.
Attach the smartphone while extending the clamp outward.
Make sure no buttons on the smartphone are caught when attaching.
Point the lens to the subject and compose the shot.
You can shoot by touching the shutter button on the smartphone.
To record movies, touch the still image/movie switching button to switch to the movie mode.
Touch (icon).
Touch [Copy from Connected Device].
Select the date containing the images you want to copy.
Put a check mark on the check box of the images you want to copy.
You can also select movies.
Touch [Copy].
The images are copied from the camera to the smartphone.
Copying is completed.
Touch here to switch to the shooting mode.
You can view the copied images with "Gallery", "Album", or other applications.
Quit "PlayMemories Mobile™" to return to the Home screen.
Turn off the camera.
