Hi! This is Toby with HMC Electronics. We're going to be taking a look at the PanaVise
line of work-holding tools.
The PanaVise Junior, #201P, is a great entry-level unit. Comes in at around $25. It has the same
tilting features as you're familiar on all the PanaVise line. It's adjustable to open
to approximately two-hand-a-half inches. It stands about six-and-three-quarter inches
tall. It is a completely plastic assembly, with the exception of the base here; this
is metal and does have the screw-down feature. But, like I said, for the $25 price point,
just a great entry-level system.
The PanaVise, #209P. When I first saw this I wondered what individuals were doing electronics
or assembly work while driving along in their car, sticking this to their windscreen, and
doing work on the way. And then I thought, well maybe this is just the crudest cellphone
holder I have ever seen. But apparently, and I'll say this based on the number of units
we sell, it is a great unit. It's only about $30. It will suction down to any hard, laminate
smooth surface. Lock it into place. You've got this nice plastic joint here. It's adjustable,
it opens to about two-and-seven-eighths inches wide. It weighs nothing; it's 0.8 ounces.
But it can stand pretty high, let's remove that. It stands pretty high and it's got a
lot off adjustments to it. Just a great unit, and I see no reason why you couldn't use it
for holding your cellphone. In fact I think it would look rather cool.
The standard PanaVise #301 is a kit that consists of the #300 standard base and the #300 standard
head. The jaws are two-and-a-quarter inches this way and can open about two inches. The
whole unit stands six-and-three-quarters inches high, weighs about two pounds and eleven ounces.
It's a pretty heavy unit so it can hold without falling. However, if you wish, you can bolt
it down to your bench.
The #396 PanaVise consists of the #300 standard base and the #366 wide-opening jaws. The jaws
can open to approximately six inches, stands in total seven-and-three-quarters inches high,
weighs three pounds. And these jaws here are replaceable, and they've got grooves, and
if you wish you can rotate the pads so it's completely smooth.
This beast of a unit here is PanaVise's unit #350. This is their multipurpose vise with
its self-centering head, the #376. This opens to twelve inches wide. You can actually flip
these jaws around--unscrew them, turn them around--so it can hold can hold very, very
small units as well down to three-quarters of an inch. The head is mounted onto the standard
#300 base, and then that is mounted onto what they call their tray base, the #312, which
is also about twelve inches wide and has these nice little compartments for anything you
might need to have easy access to. It stands about seven-and-a-half inches high. Weight--this
is where it's a real beast--five pounds. This thing is solid. It is--what's that?--the weight
of a baby seal? Something like that. Sounds about right. But it's a great unit. And of
course you can change out the heads with any of the other PanaVise series #300 heads.
So in review of the entire PanaVise line here. PanaVise is 100% made in America. It has a
limited lifetime warranty; there's a card that comes in with the unit. Fill that out,
send that back.
Good rule of thumb: If the PanaVise has a '3' as its starting digit--so it's a 300-series--it's
compatible with anything else that has a '3' in it. So all of these bases are compatible
with the different heads. There are many other bases: low profile and vacuum bases. We show
them all on our website. Check them out today!
