Hy everyone and welcome back. Today on another special episode we will take a look on this issue without a cover, so first we need a special effect. All right, História Revista is on.
Ação games 12, August 1992. Prince of pérsia 0n SNES, Ayrton Senna and Taz Mania on the Genesis and others. The first stop today: Virtual Reality, the new wave. Once again this is the topic and this time
as a tie-in on the film The Lawnmower Man. 20 years later and we are still waiting for this to happen and you can watch this film every week on SyFy channel. Later launched on Snes, Genesis, PC, Gameboy and Sega CD.
Prince of Persia on the SNES. In this port the game was 2 times bigger including the time limit. The SNES graphics from that time, a great work. After this one they made ports on other systems with their owns graphics style.
And the first part of the walkthrough we already saw the second in another episode. More SNES games and we dont need to say anything on this page. In the other, The Addams Family.
The great game of this month, Ayrton Senna's Super Monaco GP 2. The series started some years ago on the arcades with Monaco GP, later ported for the PS2. Then Super Monaco GP on the arcades,
with one race in a track based on Monaco. This one was ported for home consoles with the full Formula 1 season without a licence but we all know who was that guy named G. Ceara.
On this game they made everything they could do to make it better and now theres races in the rain. In the carreer mode you must challenge other pilots to "shake" their places on their teams
and in the end beat Senna and drive the Madonna, the generic Mclaren. In the hardest level this mode has no end as far as we know. As we like to say, its a classic.
Taz Mania, hard to understand this one. Good music, graphics and gameplay, the sound fx play in the same timing as the cartoons but we feel theres something missing.
Personally, i hate his solo series, he should stay as a guest in Warner cartoons. Its better than create his own cartoon just to be the punching bag of a cast full of ***.
Master System: Olympic Gold, official videogame from Barcelona '92, the ol' famous button mash. And Parlour Games, choose between 3 games and score some points.
On NES Eliminator Boat Duel, a racer, and the puzzle Yoshi!. In portable system there is this special article on whats to come with prices, games and accessories.
On PC: Civilization, the first from the series and Stunts, loved by everyone. First because of the 3d graphics and also because of the track editor and send to your friends via floppy disks.
Anyone remember this? Today the game we can do this is Trackmania, sometimes the race is entirely on the walls. In the arcades: Space Pirates from American Laser Games, the same from Mad Dog Mccree.
They treated those games like the best thing ever but i can only see people with spooky eyes. You can see in the description links to trailers of other American Laser Games titles. And you are not crazy, this old man is on both games.
And this is the end of this issue. 40 pages and not so many things, they needed to save some to show in the next. But our show today isnt over, now we will see what happened in august 1991. Historia Revista still on.
Ação Games 4: Battletoads and Sonic are brand new and Nintendo and Sega are at war. It officially started at CES with the games we have here. Toe Jam & Earl, the first Sonic with this beta pics
Mickey is on Sega side, not Disney, unfortunately the game was Fantasia, awesome graphics but everything else is terrible. The american SNES would arrive in the next months and got Super Mario World,
Simcity and Zelda. The NES was close to receive Star Wars games. In the drawing we see Megaman and the Ninja Turtles on Nintendo side, what is true as we know Sega only got those games later.
Star Wars got the same NES game on the Master System and Game Gear and never on the Genesis, only on the 32X with the arcade game from Sega. No mention of the Namco game where Darth Vader morphs into a scorpion.
Sonic the Hedgehog. More than the programmers the marketing worked on this title. They invented the "blast processing" as something only the Genesis could do but means nothing.
They also transformed a bug in a good thing, Sonic runs so fast the screen cant follow him. The game ws a great start for this franchise that suffers with bad games for a long time.
After Sonic 3 the games look like only the first stage looks good and the whole game is on auto-pilot, what is sad because Sonic deserves a lot more than this.
Master System got Forgotten Worlds from Capcom and another one with olympic games. This one is from Epyx, later they would make more sports packs like his biggest title: California Games.
In this two pages we have some games from Milmar, Brazilian company who also released the famiclone Hi-Top Game. I had one and for some reason the screen goes black & white after 10 minutes.
Those games are from American Video Entertainment without a licence from Nintendo and i believe they also dont have a licence to use the brazilian teams in Futebol, a translation of Ultimate League Soccer
in portuguese. From those other game F-15 City War or Double Strike could be bundled in the Hi-Top Game but they suck, there is only one song for the whole game and the same sound fx, better stay forgotten.
How videogames are built, a visit to Tec Toy factory on Manaus (visit Amazon). Its cool how they were open, first this and also in other episode they showed how they translate game.
In the end they say the hardest one to make is the Game Gear because its a portable and its almost impossible to do a portable Genesis but someday the Japanese guys will do it.
And they did in 1995 with the Sega Nomad, a high valuable piece for collectors worldwide. Today portable consoles are smaller than those from the past but nothing like the real thing.
The first part of the walkthrough of Battletoads on the NES, already a classic and would appear in the magazine for a long time. Ghostbusters on the Genesis, great action game.
Psycho Fox on the Master System, a japanese manga turned into animal themed game here and Decapattack on the Genesis. In Brazil Tec Toy made a conversion and turned this game into
Sapo Xulé vs The Swamp Invaders, the first on the Frog named Xulé (bad smell from the feet) trilogy. At the time They made an ad in the magazine with a plastic foot and syntethic bad smell,
and it was terrible. And got to be the issue with the review of Mortal Kombat 3. And this is the end of this episode, two magazines one year apart for the prize of one. A little chunk of time and many thing changed in the world and in the magazine.
