Hi and welcome to another review!
Today we'll be having a look at Jazwares "Mortal Kombat 9" Sub-zero, which is part of series 1!
This figure has been released in 2012 and it's 6" scaled, it's about 6 inches tall!
Let's take a look at the packaging! Very nice, with this rounded bubble!
On the background, you can glimpse a very large Mortal Kombat emblem.
On the back, a very nice picture of Sub-zero from the game. And this character bio which I'll focus for you!
Before I start my review, I want to show you the background of the card! Really nice, with this Mortal Kombat emblem! Very very nice!
And here's Sub-zero out of the package!
A very nice incarnation of Sub-zero, the one from "Mortal Kombat 9"!
I really like it because, even though it reminds a lot the classic look of the character, featuring the balaclava and the ninja mask...
...this crossed jacket with this hanging part...
...they put some details, like these protective pads, that give him a more modern and realistic look.
On the belt as well, very nicely detailed.
On the forearms, the gauntlets...
...and here on the shins...
Very neat!
Let's take a look at the back as well!
A very nicely detailed figure!
Very nice the mask, in particular! Check out the blue eyes, with this kinda asian look.
Very nice this crossed part on the upper chest.
A very nice looking figure!
The painting is pretty clean. Jazwares don't have a good reputation on that. But I have to say the painting is pretty clean, maybe the only relevant flaw is this one on the mask.
But I was expecting a lot worse!
Articulation wise: head is on a ball joint, it can fully rotate and move up and down very slightly.
Arms can fully rotate and move in and out. The elbows can fully rotate and bend at one point. Hands can move up and down and fully rotate.
There's articulation in the middle of the torso, but the range of motion is extremely limited. No waist rotation, unfortunately.
Legs can move forward and back, in and out, very well. Rotation in the middle of the thigh.
The knees can bend at one point with a very very limited range of motion. They can fully rotate as well.
And there's ankle articulation so the feet can move up and down, and fully rotate. No side to side movement unfortunately. That would have been a good thing, since this character is a ninja!
Articulation is good, but it could have been better! For example with double jointed elbows and knees.
As for the accessories, the only accessory he comes with is this sword.
Very nice! Very nicely painted, with this ice effect!
Perhaps I would have preferred that sort of ice energy-beam, typical of the Sub-zero character, maybe made out of translucent plastic. But the accessory is not that bad! It's fairly nice!
I strongly recommend this figure! Specially if you're a Mortal Kombat fan, in particular a Sub-zero fan, like me!
You can also find a 4" version. It's just a matter of which scale you prefer!
I bought it on Multiplayer (italian webstore). It was on sale for 9.90€ plus 4.90€ for the shipping. So it's 14.80€ shipped (about 19 bucks).
[I'm giving info on where to buy the figure in Italy] For international viewers: you can find it either in the comic stores or online! In general, I would suggest you to not spend more than 18-22 bucks in hand for this figure.
That being said, I'll see you on the next video! BYE!
