Hey we're Sorted Food. This is our fridge and this is the YouTube Creator Academy. Welcome to
Week One of the course, Maximize your Channel.
This week we're going to dive into the new OneChannels design and see how it helps
you as a creator, as well as your audience.
In just seven days, we'll teach you how to set up that design so that it attracts
more viewers and hopefully more subscribers. But bare in mind, it's not just the design and look
of the channel that will attract them.
Do you know how each different part of your channel works together? Not a clue. Well, stick
with the us as Rob Nixon, Hilah Johnson and us guys talk you through each different part
and how it works and most importantly, how it increases your watch time.
Plus in the last lesson, we'll show you how to create a brand that will work across all
of the platforms - TVs, computers, tablets, mobile devices, and gaming consoles - just about anything.
It's gonna be one hell of a ride!
So why does watch time matter?
Well, it's a very vital and accurate way to measure your channel's performance.
YouTube's success used to be about the number of views you got on a video - but now just as important is the length of time people
are watching your videos. It's pretty simple. We call it watch time.
So you need to optimize your channel so you can increase watch time and that will mean you'll also get more
subscribers, more viewers, more engagement, more likes and comments. All of these things push you up the rankings in the search results
meaning more people will find you.
Alright, it's question time. How do you find YouTube videos? Click the link at the end of this
video to tell us your thoughts and also find out what everyone else has been saying!
