What sets Holyrood PR apart is our passion for stories. Finding them, telling them and
making sure our clients benefit. And we proved it yet again, when we discovered a wee gem,
that a famous police pipe band was working with kids from one of Glasgow's toughest neighborhoods.
The police pipers and drummers have been teaching youngsters from Govan to prepare them to take
part in their first time in the Scottish Schools Pipe Band Championship.
We immediately knew this was story gold, and a great story deserves to be told in words,
pictures and in video. For months we have been successfully promoting
the championships, and made sure the event was in the headlines again by arranging for
the cream of Scotland's media to see the budding young musician's in action.
The results? Superb coverage in The Herald and The Evening Times newspapers, and STV
online reaching hundreds of thousands of people with an uplifting story, and positive messages
about our clients. We took our own photos and video to showcase
the work of Greater Glasgow Police Pipe band and the Govan weavers in helping the Govan
kids. We've got chinese kids, we've got Muslim kids,
we've got african kids, scottish kids. We've got them from all races and all creeds and
its quite wonderful to see that happening. They can see that very quickly the kids are
making progress, and its not just in the fact that they're learning an instrument, in some
cases its good for their health. One of the boys, Scott. He is an asthma sufferer
and his breathing count has improved...mega. And we can tell it as well, we can see the
difference in them from september in all aspects. I think that they'll get the experience of
competition, but basically for us it's a foot in the door for the scottish schools to show
how much these kids have come on in such a short time. So, power to their elbow they
have done absolutely fantastic. The second Scottish Schools Pipe Band championships
are being held at Broughton High school in Edinburgh, on Sunday 9 march.
At Holyrood PR, we believe that finding and sharing our clients' story on paper online
and on air, increase the bottom line, while making better places to work.
