Welcome to the Bahamas,
a collection of islands in the Caribbean Sea
and with regular direct flights from the UK it's even easier to jet away to
these vibrant isles and discover a little bit of paradise.
The Bahamas is home to super-luxury hotels like Atlantis Paradise Island
an appropriately named haven on the north east corner of Nassau Island.
This palatial playground features its own water park
with lazy river and super-slide and one of the world's largest aquariums.
If you're not staying at the hotel, it's definitely worth buying a day ticket.
But if you ever needed more reason to visit the Bahamas,
definitely go for the food.
The famous fish fries draw long queues in the evenings and the local specialty cerviche
is mouthwateringly good.
A holiday here can immerse you in all sorts of activity, if that's your thing,
whether water-based, or the drier option on one of the many beautiful Bahamian golf courses.
The Bahamas have luxury in spades, quite literally, all to a backdrop
of some of the most beautiful beaches in the world.
Your catch of the day awaits off Bimini Island, where big game fishing is
well, big game.
As well as this it's also famous for its diverse marine life and the
Atlantis shipwreck that makes Bimini a spectacular dive spot.
You're completely enveloped by shoals of tropical fish as you creep your way through underwater coral gardens.
Turtles and maybe the odd ray come to say hello as they inquisitively wonder:
"What is this strange looking creature swimming around my back yard?"
A favourite here is also shark diving.
These black tip reef sharks are generally wary of people, but don't tend to attack if a diver is respectfully
and calmly passing through their territory.
It's quite an impending scene as the shiver of sharks bears down on you
and a dive amongst these magnificent creatures is quite the adrenaline rush.
Over to Long Island now, a place for the intrepid explorer.
You'll discover hidden coves and lagoons that lead into a dense underground network of caves.
And when you're ready to come up for air,
you'll discover Cape Santa Maria, one of the world's top beaches.
It's also where you'll find Dean's Blue Hole, one of the world's deepest diving spots.
For the nature lovers the island of Grand Bahama is a must.
Drift along its mangroves
where you can fish, observe exotic wildlife, and discover its tropical gardens.
Alternatively live out your childhood dreams and go swimming with the dolphins,
as much a family affair for them, as it is for you.
If it's romance you're after, this stunning setting is perfect for everything from a walk along the seashore
to your dream wedding. Book your special day with any of the
Bahamas luxury hotels and they'll be more than happy to do the hard work for you.
The Bahamas are the ultimate Caribbean holiday
and every perfect sunrise there promises another day to remember.
