In this series I'm going to be talking about English 3 speeds. 3 speed bikes has been made
since the 1930's, they were made up until the 1970's. Even today the original tooling
that these English bicycles were manufactured upon, that tooling now is in India and China,
and people in those countries are still riding these bicycles, and they have been for decades
and decades. I'll talk to you about how you can determine what bikes is an English bike,
how you can determine if it is actually a 3 speed, I'll talk about the companies that
manufacture these cycles, the years they were made, I'll show you how to adjust the gearing
and the breaks on them, I'll show you what to look for if you're collecting 3 speeds,
and I'll talk about their practicality as a collectible bicycle, but also as a good
straight commuter bike. Generally in my opinion these are the best commuting bicycles ever
made, they are light, they're efficient, they have fenders and an upright riding position,
they're very comfortable, and I'll show you how to find one and how to determine if you
should purchase one.
