Voice over basics: To enable those who are blind or have impaired
vision, you use a computer. Every Mac includes a powerful screen reading technology called
voice over. Vertical split...sources...search text...cover
flow...view...review...search...text list view...switcher...body...
It speaks so users can send email, surf the web, run applications, and control virtually
everything on their Mac just by hearing words spoken aloud and using the trackpad and keyboard.
Starting voice over. When you start voice over, the welcome panel
appears. Press command+F5 at any time to toggle voice over on and off.
Welcome to voice over. Voice over speaks descriptions of items on the screen and can be used to
control the computer using only your keyboard. Voice over on. Finder, desktop, empty desktop.
Keyboard orientation: The Mac keyboard uses a standard QWERTY layout.
Some of the modifier keys have different names and are on a different location than on a
PC keyboard. You can use keyboard help to learn where all of the keys are.
With voice over running, press control+option+K to turn on keyboard help.

Voice over keyboard commands use the control and option key together with other keys. You
can hear their names and get a brief description when you type them
Control+Option+H open voice over help menu brings out the general help guide for voice
over. Press the escape key when you're done practicing.
