[Music] What's going on
everybody! Welcome to today's
thirty days video. My name is
jack Jenkins and this is Academy of
One. Today I'm going to be talking about
the learn.
So, my belief is that learning
should only end after the grave.
You know, once you die, that's when you should stop.
Learning. Alot of people think oh I'm done with school
time to stop learning. No, keep
on learning. That's why I made Academy of One
so I can put a bunch of recourses together and
make learning so much easier for you guys.
So learning is incredibly
important and that's the reason why
it's part of the thirty days system or
lick system.
Sorry, I had to turn off the lights cause
one of my lights were making noise so the videos
gonna be a little bit more dark but it should
still be fine. You guys should still see me pretty well.
So before I want to give you guys some tips about
what to learn about I want to be talking about
some of the things I learned during the thirty days.
Alright, I'm going to give you three examples. The
first example is something I learned during the thirty days.
soap making
I made my own soap in order or I learned how
to make my own soap. I learned about the properties of soap. I learned
alot about soap and fragrance oils
and just aroma therapy in general was
pretty much my objective but I started out with
just making your own soap. If you guys kinda want to
learn a little bit about the beauty industry. I highly recommend you make your
own soap cause I personally,
it's a great hobby of mine. I actually do it with one
of my friends and it's a great like buddy
buddy kinda friendship activity you guys
can do together. Highly recommended activity
the second activity I tried to learn in
the thirty days that I want to share is
style. I learned about style.
I learned style through alpha m
and real men real style. Shout out to
those two youtube channels. I highly recommend those
two youtube channels and the courses they make on
udemy and there own sites.
I learned about style because it's a
really important subject cause your appearance
does matter. Alot of people
think oh, I can just let my body go to crap I
don't care what I ware. No, look how you look
is very important.
Besides that, today for
the thirty days, or this month for the thirty day
I'm going to be learning about making my own
t-shirts, why? Cause it's kinda a cool
little thing. Not alot of people know how to make there own
t-shirts so that's why I'm going to be making my
own t-shirts. That I can also have Academy of One
t-shirts and I can like give them out for you guys for free.
It's also a little bonus for you guys too.
Thanks thirty days. [Music]

So, what is it about those three
activities that I like about them. And why did I pick them
from my thirty days. Well it's because
my three basic rules for the learn.
My first rule is
that it should be simple to learn.
You know you only got thirty days
to learn something and I recommend you spend
around thirty minutes to learn. So you got thirty
minutes for thirty days. Or thirty
minutes each day for thirty days.
That's not a whole lot of time to learn alot about a subject.
To kinda give you guys an example.
My second ever thirty days
and this was my first two thirty days I ever did I
completely failed. And I
so you guys don't fail is that I wanted to learn about
electronics. And if you guys
know you can get like a PH .d in electronics.
There is alot to learn in electronics.
So when I started to learn about electronics. I tired
learning alot about each field and I just couldn't
keep up. There's just so much to learn in the electronics field.
that I ended up failing.
What I learned from that is that I need to
hone in, i need to scope in on a
specific subject which i number 2, it has
to be specific. So,\
when I tried learning about electronics
I tried to lean
so much it's such a vast field that I couldn't spend thirty
minutes learning about it. I had to spend so much more time.
And secondly it wasn't specific enough. So when I
later went back and learned electronics in a
different 30 days system. I learned specifically about
arduino. And granted
there's still alot to learn about arduino. I mean
just look on amazon, type in arduino you'll see
hundreds upon hundreds of books on arduino.
While there was still alot to learn about arduino.
It was much more specific and I was able to learn
pretty much alot, not all of it
I almost said all of it. There's no way you can learn
all of arduino, it's crazy
talk. But I learned alot about arduino
and alot about electronics in general.
Through just learning about arduino.
So those are the first two rules. One, you have
spend. Or one it should be concise.
You can only spend around thirty minutes to an hour
each day for thirty days. You don't have a whole lot of time.
So pick something that you can learn in a short
amount of time. Two it has to be
specific. Notice, that I started
or in one of my first examples, making soap. I started
out very specific, making soap. I learned pretty
much alot about that field and I started to
expanded a little bit more about alright let's learn about
more fragrance, how does that work? Then I started learning about
aroma therapy and all that other
pseudo-science stuff.
I'm actually a big fan of pseudo-science. Right now I'm trying
to learn about NLP. Nero-linguistic
programming. It's a great subject. And I may actually
do a video series on that. Getting back to it.
The last rule
Should be it should be fun.
You know, this isn't college. You don't have to learn about
some boring subject. So pick something that is
exciting to you.
For instance, making soap. That's actually a really
cool craft that you can do and I think that's fun.
I personally would pick a craft for you
guys to learn during the thirty days. You shouldn't pick like.
Uhm, quantum physics.
I'm learning about quantum physics over the thirty days. It's like...
eh... you're gonna spend alot
of energy doing the other things in thirty days.
Such as installing a habit and the challenge. And
killing a habit. Like, you're not gonna have alot of energy
to spend learning something such advance
as quantum physics. So I'd save quantum physics
for learning on your own outside of the thirty days system.
However, learning a craft, it
doesn't take that much mental capacity. It's mostly just
physical work and that's actually good.
Cause your gonna spending your mental stuff on
the challenges and the installing and the killing.
So, save your mental and do more physical.
Is a great thing to say during the learn activates.

So I just told you the three rules for the learn.
So, what were they again?
Were they have fun,
work hard and pick a specific rule.
or learn. Was it work hard
specific, or simple to learn.
Was it specific, simple to learn,
have fun or was it, the
wheels on the bus go moo!
We'll it turns out number 3 was
correct. I was gonna go with number 4 at first
but then I realized wait, the wheels on the bus
go quack, silly me.
So I'm going to give you more examples just to round up this video.
Some other examples is knitting. I
actually bought a textbook on knitting.
uhm, it's actually on that desk.
The principles of knitting by
june hemmons.
I can't really see it, it's too dark.
But just look up the principles of knitting if you want to learn about
knitting. Some other things you should learn is say
sales force. Sales force you can make
uhm... little apps. That's actually a great
way to learn. So here's a tip.
If you guys still don't know what to learn, even though I
told you to write down ten Ideas.
You should've already done that. But if not, do it
right now and to kinda help you guys learn. I would
recommend you go to say udemy or coursera or
udacity and kinda just look over the courses
they have. If you look over the courses you have you can kinda
learn some specific skills and even better, you can just
buy the courses. Or if there free just click on them.
And you can learn for pretty cheap. You already
got all the resources you need there. It's a great
way to kinda pick out what you want to learn for the thirty
days. That's it for today's
video on learn. Tune in next time for
when we are going to be talking about the
installation of a good habit.
Alright guys. If you guys would do me a
huge favor. I highly recommend you like this video,
share this video and subscribe
to Academy of One.
Go ahead and visit academyofone.org in
order to see the full article. We now actually have
post that are in much more detail than the videos.
I highly recommend you give it a read. I actually recommend
you read it and then you watch the videos.
or just watch the videos or just read it.
But it would be better if you do both.
And lastly, if you have any
questions at all. Go ahead and email me at
jack@academyofone.org. Alright guys.
Have a great day!
