Hello, and welcome to the osu!academy! In our 1st episode, we will get started by
installing the game and creating an account.
To start off, let's open our browser and go to the osu! website. After doing that, you
will be met with the home page.
Notice at the top right hand of the screen you will see "Log in" or "I'm new!".
Click "I'm new!" and you will be prompted to create your username and set a password.
Remember that you are only allowed to have one account, so choose your name wisely!
After you have made your account, you will need to download the osu! game client.
It should only take a few moments to install; feel free to keep clicking Next until the
install finishes.
You will need to log into the game itself with your new account to complete the
registration, so don't forget that password!
In order to get new songs, you will need to download some beatmaps. Downloading
beatmaps can be done one of two ways, but for now, we will go over downloading via the
osu! website.
If you look near the top of the webpage, you will see a section labeled "Beatmaps".From
there, you can type in the name of a song you like, music from a series, or even the
name of a beatmap creator you may have heard of. Press Enter, and you should see various
songs matching what you typed in - click on any one of them to download a beatmap for
that song! Once the beatmap has finished downloading, you can add it to osu! in one of two ways;
either double-click the downloaded file, or drag it into
the osu! window. If you click "Settings" near the upper right,
you can adjust settings on your user profile , such as your avatar, forum signature, friends
list and more. If you have any problems launching the game,
don't forget to drop by the tech support forums - we are there to help!
Well, that about wraps it up from us, we hope to see you real soon. And remember: rhythm
is just a click away!
