My name's Ben--
Ben Logan.
And I'm a director of Spotless Interactive.
And we are a usability, user experience agency based up in
Old Street in London.
--very passionate about all sorts of areas within user
experience, particularly research.
We've got a strong focus on gaming, video games, and also
looking into areas like effective interaction and
effective computing.
User experience is now more important than it's ever been.
We're not only just having to deal with websites and a
number of different browsers.
We've got tablets, smartphones, even ubiquitous
computing with wearable technology.
We've got user experience in the car, which is becoming
quite a big area.
So I think it's now more important than it's ever been
to really be factoring in your experience into these
different facets of technology that we're looking at.
For the UK market, it's more relevant than it's ever been.
And we have to really be seen to having a good user
experience to differentiate ourselves.
So we've seen a really sharp increase in requests from
clients for mobile and tablet research-- not just testing
the devices, but also testing the apps and websites
associated with them, as well.
This is a real growing sign that UX is maturing.
I think a lot of clients really are starting to get the
fact that they need to put money and time and investment
in this area.
So if you're coming from a creative, digital background,
I think what we like to see is people who have attempted to
look at certain areas of user experience, whether it be
research, analytics, some wireframing or prototyping.
Really try and demonstrate to us how you've gotten from A to
B rather than just presenting final designs.
And maybe explore how you got to that point.
Did you do some research with users?
Did you perhaps do some initial wireframes and
prototypes, which you then put in front of users?
And did they change as a result of the feedback?
So really demonstrating a story in terms of how you go
from one place to another.
