Golden Pumice Gels offer an exciting tool for texture, color, and mixed-media.
Pumice Gel is exactly what the name suggests.
It is a clear, acrylic gel combined with ground pumice.
Pumice is a common volcanic rock
used as an abrasive in many household and industrial cleaners.
These piles show the three levels of grit used in the gels we offer.
The size of the pumice particles is what distinguishes fine, from course and extra-course.
Ground pumice has a light gray color,
while the gel it’s suspended in is white when wet.
This combination is easy to tint
and it accepts Heavy Body and Fluid colors very well.
You can see as they dry the texture of the pumice becomes pronounced.
Fine Pumice Gel becomes translucent as the gel dries.
Once dry, the absorbent quality of pumice provides and excellent surface
for washes in acrylic or watercolor, oil crayon or pastel, and acrylic or oil painting.
When applied smoothly, Fine Pumice Gel is an excellent surface for pencil,
pen and other dry media.
Fine, Course and Extra-Course Pumice Gels
are completely compatible with all Golden acrylic colors.
As always, Golden’s Technical Support Team is available
to answer any questions you have.
