I am going to show you how to put together an alto saxophone. But, before I do that I
have to show you all the pieces. So this right here is the reed. Most woodwind instruments,
some woodwind instruments have it. And I have a number 2, strength, strength number 2, whatever. And
then, sorry. This is the mouthpiece. Yeah it's the mouthpiece. And then, here is the
neck. there's the cork and yeah. And the neck strap. And the body. So now to putting the
instrument together. First, you get the reed and you put it in your mouth and you wet it
so it won't break. It may taste weird at the beginning but you know. Now since I've already
wet mine i am not going to do it. OK so after that you take the mouthpiece and the neck
and you put it together. Oh before you do that actually, cork grease. Now, it looks
sort of like chap stick but not all of them are the same. So you take the cork grease
and the cork and then spread it on all the sides. You don't have to put too much on.
And then you can rub it around with your fingers. Then put it on, it makes it a bit easier to
put on. And then, after that you undo the ligature, undo the ligature, get the reed,
and then slide it in. Make sure its lined up so it's not like that or that, make sure it lines up.
then you line it up again and put the ligature back over, right like that. OK that then you
tighten it. Oh when you put the mouthpiece on. See how this one it light and right here
you get dark, don't put it further than that. cause that is a line to stop you. you don't
want to put it too far out because it would be out of tune. And then set that aside, you
get the body and this is what we've already done, and you loosen this, see that, it's
on the top you loosen it and you put this in. If it doesn't work at first just sort
of turn it a bit like that. Make sure that that thing and that line up. OK so and then
oh yeah I almost forgot, the neck strap. Now obviously you have to put it around your neck
or else it wouldn't be called a neck strap. And then right down here that little hook
you hook it through see you hook it through. And then tighten the neck strap as needed.
Now it depends on who you are but whichever feels comfortable. You can either do this to
the side. Or to the front. So that is how you put together a saxaphone
