Alright, so my name's Tim and today we're going to be talking about Latin grooves. And
I've also been trying to grow out my mustache a little bit so I can, you know, get some
Latin feel in there, and get some Latin fire, all right. So anyway, that's neither here
nor there. But all right, so for Latin grooves we're going to be dealing with the Bossa Nova
which is a very well, well known Latin style I guess you could say. It consists of a, of
an ostinado, and an ostinado means a repeating pattern in music, either a rhythm or a melodic
idea, or what have you. And that is going to be, idea is going to be repeated on the
bass drum, also known as the kick, many times over. It's going to be one, do, do. And then
we're going to have three, there's about three components, three or four. We've got the kick,
and then we've got the high hat, and then we've got rim clicks, all right. So those
basically are your three, like, main components, kick, snare, high hat, for this, for this
Latin type groove called the Bossa Nova
