Go into almost any bike shop and you'll see
mechanics using one of these.
Hi I'm Dan from Park Tool Company
and this is our TS-2.2 Wheel Truing Stand.
Often times when you have a bicycle wheel,
it can develop wobbles over time, and it
needs to be straightened out--in the
bike shop they say the wheel needs to be trued.
And this TS-2.2 holds the wheel,
and acts as a gauge so you can make
adjustments to the spoke tension,
in order to straighten the wheel.
The TS-2.2 is made of heavy gauge steel,
so it's built for a lifetime of use.
The stand’s tall uprights and adjustable
caliper arm allow it to accept a wide range
of wheel sizes -- The truing calipers
adjust to work on everything from the
narrowest racing rims all the way to the
fat 4 inch rims and tires on off road bikes.
And replaceable plastic tips on the calipers
prevent scratching on painted and carbon fiber rims.
The uprights of the TS-2.2 move simultaneously
to accommodate a wide range of hub widths
—from 80mm all the way to 175mm.
The beauty of this truing stand--it's been around
for 40 years and we still have replacement
parts available for truing stands that we made
40 years ago. It's easily adjust and completely
rebuildable.
Those looking to put a little color in their
shop should check out the TS2.2P.
It's the exact same, easy to use heave duty
truing stand, but with a more economical
blue powder coat finish.
Park Tool makes a tilting base for the TS-2.2
and a wide selection of accessories that can be used
to tru disc brake rotors and wheels with extra wide
hubs and thu-axle type hubs.
Whether you're a home mechanic, or a
professional shop mechanic or a wheel builder-
the TS2.2 Wheel Truing Stand, along with some
spoke wrenches and a little knowledge, will
help you turn out wheels that are straighter,
rounder, and perform better, for years to come.
